ShyGoy BreakOut 64 is a Bat and Ball style game for the Nintendo 64, themed around Nintendo Characters.  There are 15 levels to play through, which feature 8 backdrops and 10 level wall themes. The aim of the game is to clear each level of the ShyGoys, by smacking a ball or 3 at them. There are 7 different power ups you can collect, which are extra ball, grow bat, shrink bat, extra life and 3 extra score values, up to 3 balls can be bouncing around at any 1 time.  Everytime you earn over 2500 points, you will get an extra life.

There are 5 Bat types, you can choose from, and 10 skins for your bat.

If you enjoy the game, please consider donating for cost of a Coffee, to say thanks.

The game was originally an idea, I came up with on my N64 - C Programming video series, that I thought I would turn in to a full game. The only buttons in the game to be aware of are 'Start' to pause the game, 'C Arrow Up' to Zoom out and 'C Arrow Down' to Zoom back in behind the bat. If you find any bugs then please let me know, by posting up here and I will get them sorted. I hope you like ShyGoy BreakOut 64.

Fantastic... brings me back to the good old days... a hot Summer night in 1997, renting a an exciting new N64 game at Blockbuster, hanging out with good friends, eating pizza and popcorn, drinking cherry cokes and playing something like this all night.  You nailed the vibe... I love it.

Thanks. Did you play this on a real N64 or via an emulator? Just curious. I think I also had a N64 around 97 or maybe 98, for me it was Killer Instinct 64, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, and Golden Eye. The games were expensive in England at that time and there were not many about, so I didn't keep the console for too long. But it was great for multiplayer with Golden Eye, as it had the 4 joyports built in.

There is nothing I can do in code, as it works fine in my emulator, Ares and on my real NTSC N64. You will need to configure your controller in the emulator you are using, maybe test configuring keys first, as the emulator may not support your controller. If you are able to play other N64 games fine, then let me know. I hope this helps.

Promise one more stage and the 2€ tip are yours :-)

This should help indicate to me, how interested people are in the game, if they like the game and want to see more, than drop me a tip. Otherwise I am throwing away my time and effort on a game no one is interested in. I also am looking to release this game on the Wii and 3DS, if there is an interest. Also I don't know if people who follow the N64, would even see it on Itch.io.
