BOULDER CRASH

This is a Nintendo game, supplied as a ROM file, which targets ntsc region Nintendo Games Consoles. It can be played on an actual Nintendo or in an emulator.

Help Penguy collect the gems, which are scattered throughout the dungeons. But watch out for the meanies that roam inside them. They will eat Penguy if they can. You can push boulders, on to them to turn them in to gems. You need to dig through the dirt to create paths for the boulders to roll down, and to direct the Meanies to the boulders. Once you have enough gems, a key will appear for the exit to the dungeon. When you have the key, go to the exit and go to the next dungeon. If you can't complete a level due to the boulders being at the bottom of the dungeon, there is a skull which you can use to sacrifice a life and start the level over. The Meanies will only change direction, when they hit a wall or some dirt, if they stop and you are in their line of site, they will chase after you.

There are 10 levels in this version at present, this maybe expanded in the future if enough people show support.

Please let me know if you find any bugs. Many Thanks

the url is still boulder-splat, want to change that? if you manage to fix that mini flaw, we can cover your game up in the news-corner of brewotaku #3. ps where are more levels? :)

Hi thanks for pointing that out, I had not noticed that and was not aware I could alter the URL like that. The levels are recycled on the NES, after level 4 more enemies are spawned. Up to level 10.

Any update on the version which doesn't crash? :) Is the game name now Splat or Crash?

Thanks for noticing, I have a number of versions of this type of game and I missed this :); I will fix the title to Boulder Crash on the page graphics. With regards to the delay with any updates to the NES version, its due to issues I was having with banking. The code doesn't fully fit into 32k which is what gbdk's NES ROM Mapper uses. I will sort out the crashing, though as that can be easily fixed. Not sure when or if I will extend the NES version after that.
