A New Start
Having decided to turn this proto type in to a semi game, I thought I would let everyone know what I used to get to this point. I coded the project in C and used Codeblocks IDE on Linux Mint and created the graphics inside LibreSprite, with a few tweeks from GIMP for colour reduction at times. The sound effects were put together using Schismtracker, which allows the creation of .it tracker files. This is how pvsneslib likes to handle loading sound effects into the SNES's sound chip. The game is a bit jerky at the moment, but that is due to the game being purely tiles and no sprites at the moment. This design choice will change in the future, as the game was initially just to be a project to show off Background Mode 1 graphics on the Super Nintendo, but I think there could be something in this project to maybe expand into a full game. I would be happy with some feed back to know if it is worth doing this, if anybody is happy to point a few things out?
